This is one of the first questions nearly every homeowner asks—and understandably so. No one wants lighting hardware or hanging wires to detract from the beauty of their home during daylight hours. Our permanent roofline lighting system is designed to be as discreet as possible. The low-profile aluminum track is carefully selected to complement your home's trim and is professionally installed beneath the roof overhang (soffit) whenever possible. Once installed, the system blends naturally into the architecture and is difficult to notice unless you're specifically looking for it. At night, the same nearly invisible installation transforms into an elegant architectural lighting feature.

Absolutely. In fact, many of our clients are most excited about using the system as everyday architectural lighting. Using the app, you can select a beautiful warm white setting that subtly highlights your home's rooflines, peaks, and architectural details every evening. When a holiday or special occasion arrives, you simply change the lighting scene to celebrate. The ability to transition from timeless elegance to festive color is what makes the system so versatile.

The entire system is controlled through a user-friendly smartphone app. From your phone or tablet, you can adjust brightness, select colors, create custom scenes, schedule automatic on-and-off times, and program lighting for holidays or special events. Many homeowners create an elegant warm white scene for nightly use and schedule the system to automatically display patriotic colors on Independence Day or festive colors during the holiday season or game day.

Yes. Depending on the system design, multiple lighting zones can be independently controlled through the app. This allows you to customize different areas of your property to suit the occasion or your personal preferences. For example, you might illuminate the front of your home with elegant warm white architectural lighting while displaying festive colors around the pool, patio, or outdoor entertaining area. You can also adjust brightness levels, create custom lighting scenes, and schedule each zone independently, giving you exceptional flexibility year-round.

Yes. Florida is one of the most demanding environments in the country for outdoor lighting systems. Intense UV exposure, high humidity, heavy rain, salt air, and tropical weather all require durable materials, quality components, and professional installation. That's why we install commercial-grade lighting systems engineered specifically for permanent exterior applications. The manufacturer's lighting system is backed by a limited lifetime warranty, and every installation is completed using premium materials and installation methods designed for long-term durability. Just as importantly, Coastal Illumination has nearly 20 years of experience designing, installing, and maintaining outdoor lighting systems throughout South Florida and the Treasure Coast. Unlike many companies that only install seasonal lighting, we provide ongoing service and support long after the installation is complete, giving you the confidence that your investment is protected for years to come.

Permanent roofline lighting is designed to require very little routine maintenance. Unlike temporary holiday lighting that must be installed, removed, and stored every year, the system remains securely in place and is ready to enjoy whenever you want to use it. The commercial-grade LED components are engineered for long service life, and the manufacturer's system is designed so individual components can be serviced if needed rather than replacing the entire installation. Should your system ever require attention, Coastal Illumination is here to help. As an established outdoor lighting company—not a seasonal installer—we provide ongoing service and support to keep your lighting performing and looking its best for years to come.

Yes—and that's one of the advantages of working with Coastal Illumination. Permanent roofline lighting should never compete with landscape lighting. Instead, the two systems should work together to create a balanced, cohesive nighttime appearance that enhances your property's architecture from the ground to the roofline. Because we've specialized in designing and installing luxury landscape lighting since 2006, we carefully balance brightness, color temperature, beam placement, and lighting scenes so your roofline lighting complements—not overpowers—your existing outdoor lighting. The result is a refined, professionally designed lighting system that looks intentional, elegant, and beautiful every evening of the year.

Permanent roofline lighting is designed as a long-term improvement to your property, not a seasonal product that needs to be replaced every few years. The commercial-grade LED system we install is engineered for years of reliable performance, and the manufacturer's lighting system is backed by a limited lifetime warranty. The low-profile aluminum track is designed for permanent exterior installation, providing lasting durability in Florida's demanding climate. Like any professionally installed outdoor lighting system, occasional service or component replacement may be needed over time. As an established outdoor lighting company, Coastal Illumination is available to provide ongoing service and support so your system continues to perform beautifully for years to come.

Not significantly. Modern LED technology is remarkably energy efficient and uses only a fraction of the electricity required by traditional incandescent holiday lights while providing brighter, more consistent illumination. Even when used nightly in warm white architectural lighting mode, operating costs are typically quite modest. Because the system uses energy-efficient LEDs and smart controls, you can also schedule automatic on-and-off times, adjust brightness levels, and illuminate only the areas of your property you want to use, helping minimize energy consumption.

Permanent roofline lighting is an electrical system that becomes part of your home. Florida has licensing requirements governing this type of installation. Coastal Illumination is fully state licensed (License #ES12001948) and insured, providing property owners with the confidence that their lighting system is installed professionally and in accordance with applicable requirements. In addition to being state licensed and insured, Coastal Illumination has been factory trained and certified by the manufacturer to professionally install and program this permanent roofline lighting system. That training ensures every installation follows the manufacturer's recommended installation methods and performance standards.

Every property is unique, so the cost of a permanent roofline lighting system depends on several factors. These include the length and complexity of the roofline, the number of peaks and architectural features, installation access, the number of lighting zones, and the overall design of the system. Rather than using a generic "price per foot," we design every system specifically for the property. During your consultation, we'll evaluate the architecture, discuss how you plan to use the lighting throughout the year, and provide a detailed proposal outlining the recommended design and investment. Our goal is to create a lighting system that complements your property's architecture, performs reliably for years to come, and delivers lasting value—not simply the lowest initial price.

Permanent roofline lighting is much more than seasonal decoration—it's architectural lighting. Since 2006, Coastal Illumination has specialized in designing and installing outdoor lighting for luxury homes, country clubs, resorts, restaurants, marinas, and other distinctive properties throughout South Florida and the Treasure Coast. We understand how roofline lighting should work together with other outdoor lighting to create a balanced, elegant nighttime appearance. We're fully state licensed and insured, factory trained and certified by the manufacturer, and committed to providing long-term service and support after the installation is complete. Every project is personally overseen by our President, Luis, whose attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship have earned the trust of our clients for nearly two decades. When you choose Coastal Illumination, you're not simply hiring someone to install lights. You're partnering with a company whose expertise is creating beautiful outdoor environments through thoughtful lighting design.

The installation method is one of the most important factors in the long-term performance of a permanent roofline lighting system. At Coastal Illumination, the low-profile aluminum track is professionally mounted beneath the roof eaves using corrosion-resistant stainless-steel screws. This creates a secure, permanent installation designed to withstand Florida's heat, humidity, heavy rain, and coastal conditions while maintaining clean, straight architectural lines. Unlike some lower-cost systems that rely primarily on adhesive mounting methods, we follow the manufacturer's recommended installation procedures and mechanically fasten every track using stainless steel screws. Combined with our state licensing, manufacturer certification, and nearly 20 years of outdoor lighting experience, our installation methods are designed to provide lasting performance while protecting the beauty and architectural integrity of your property.
